Tecno Launches Expensive Phones In Pakistan

Tecno Mobile is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer that began its operations in July 2006 in Hong Kong. It was founded as Tecno Mobile Limited with a research and development centre of the company based in Shanghai China. It later changed its name to Transsion Holdings and Tecno mobile was declared a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings. Tecno focused the mobile phone business in Africa as it believed that the region of Africa was a good market to grab. Soon, Tecno mobile came a big name in Africa with the Tecno camon 8 becoming the big success for the company. After establishing itself in Africa, the company focused its attention towards the south Asian market and started producing smart android phones for China and Indian Markets.

Tecno mobile recently launched its handsets in Pakistan with the collaboration of United Mobiles. Company's Flagship phone Phantom 6 plus and Phantom 6, being the centre of attraction and attrention. The Tecno Phantom 6 plus comes with a massive 6 inch screen. An IPS FHD screen with 341 Pixel is a decent effort at the part of Tecno. 64 GB of inbuilt storage 4GB of ram with SD card expansion up to 128GB. 2.5 GHZ dual core cotex 2.0 GHZ quad core Cortex 1.4 GHZ quad core GHz processor with Mediatek Helio X20 chipset makes this phone very fast and a multi tasking handler. 21 MP back camera and 8 MP front camera for the snaps lovers. A fingerprint sensor and a large 4050 MAH battery.

Tecno: Phantom 6 Plus
The only thing that is missing is NFC. The price for phantom 6 plus is a bit high as this phone is coming at the price tag of 39 thousand Pakistani Rupees. Keeping in view the prices of OPPO's F1s and Xiaomi Mi5, this price tag seems unimpressive. In this price range one can get even good slightly used flagship phones of Samsung HTC and LG. So Tecno is actually got it wrong with the pricing strategy does not seems good at the moment, and our guess is that they have to reduce the price very soon, in order to make this flagship a big hit in Pakistan.

Though another phone of the company Phantom 6 is available for 24,500 PKR, but with 3GB ram and 32GB inbuilt storage it is too much expensive as the same 5.5 inch phone for Xiaomi Mi Note 4 can be bought in Rs 20 thousands. The only selling point of Phantom 6 is its rear dual cameras. United Mobile will need extensive ATL and BTL marketing campaigns to make these phones becoming acceptable with such high price tags.

Tecno Mobile has also introduced some mid rangers and low end devices in the range of 10 to 15 thousands to grab the market share from Q mobiles. Only time will tell that how much success Tecno will be able to derive from the Pakistani mobile market. For now, The expensive price tags of the flagships of Tecno are not helping the company in selling the Phones in initial days.
