PTA Mobile Registration Deadline Extended

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has extended the due date for the enlistment of cell phones until Jan 25. The date was stretched out by the expert on the mandates of the central government. The PTA after the expiry of the all-inclusive due date will square fake and snuck telephone gadgets.

Prior, the specialist had declared to hinder all resistant gadgets after December 31, 2018. The administration extended the due date after various dissents and question and answer sessions by the Mobile Phone Traders Association (MPTA).

The merchants were of the view that they had effectively requested committals and it was unrealistic for them to enlist the IMEIs of second-hand telephones.

An official proclamation issued by the PTA states that the Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) would stay operational and every single cell phone actuated on versatile systems inside Pakistan by Jan 25 would stay operational without administration interruption.

"Indeed, even rebellious gadgets in task preceding this date will be attached to these numbers and will stay operational till the helpful existence of the gadgets," it states.

The PTA has built up the DIRBS in accordance with Section 9.6 of the Telecom Policy 2015, issued by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, with the mean to abridge fake cell phone utilization, dishearten cell phone burglary and secure shopper intrigue, it states.
