Mercedes-Benz isn’t planning to be simply the principal maker to build up a driving vehicle yet it needs to be among the initial two players ready to scale up the innovation, Mercedes-Benz official Christoph Schroeder disclosed to German paper Welt am Sonntag.
Carmakers and tech organizations like Uber, Google, General Motors, Volkswagen are competing to take off robo-taxi administrations for paying clients as an approach to enter the ride-hailing business.
"We should be among the best two contenders who are in a situation to scale up the innovation and bring it into arrangement generation," Schroeder told the paper.
Google's Waymo division has finished the most test miles with model vehicles, driving adversaries including Volkswagen to recognize that Waymo is in front of the pack regarding building up a model.
Mercedes-Benz, which is claimed by German vehicle and truck producer Daimler is determined by Waymo's advancement.
