CPEC Bus Service: Yet Another Milestone

Here! We are proceeding one more way to strengthen the Pak-China Friendship with the development in the field of Economy too.

An official launch of a bus service named as CPEC Passenger Bus Service between Pakistan and China is announced that it will start in service from 3rd November 2018.

It is supposed to be a travel of approximately 30 hours which will be full of the magical and eye-catching views of Northern Pakistan. Security of the passengers is also in the basic priorities. For this purpose security cameras are also screw in the bus, said by CEO, Muhammad Anwar in a press conference on Sunday 28th October 2018.

Authorized operators also reveal the schedule of departure and arrival of the bus from Lahore to Tashkurgan and Tashkurgan to Lahore. It is going to travel four days a week. The list of the told agenda is the following:

Departure from Lahore:

Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Departure from Tashkurgan:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

The bus will follow the following timetable during its one trip according to the statement of the department.

Lahore to Tashkurgan

  • Departure: From Lahore: 12:00am
  • Stop #1: 04:00am – Islamabad/Rawalpindi (pickup)
  • Stop #2: 07:00am – Mansehra (breakfast)
  • Stop #3: 01:00pm – Besham (lunch)
  • Stop #4: 04:00pm – Chelas (tea)
  • Stop #5:08:00pm – Gilgit (dinner)
  • Stop #6: 02:0am – Sost (custom, immigration & breakfast)
  • Stop #7: 12:00pm – Khunjerab Pass, Pakistan side (checking)
  • Stop #8: 12:30pm – Khunjerab Pass, China side (checking)
  • Arrival: 03:00pm – Tashkugran County (drop-off)

Tashkurgan to Lahore

  • Departure: From Tashkurgan: 11:00am
  • Stop #1: 01:00pm – Khunjerab Pass, China side (checking)
  • Stop #2: 01:30pm – Khunjerab Pass, Pakistan side (checking)
  • Stop #3: 03:00pm – Sost border (custom, immigration & lunch)
  • Stop #4: 09:00pm – Gilgit (dinner)
  • Stop #5: 01:00am – Chelas (refreshment)
  • Stop #6: 06:0am – Besham (breakfast)
  • Stop #7: 09:00am – Mansehra (refreshment)
  • Stop #8: 12:00pm – Islamabad/Rawalpindi (lunch & drop-off 1)
  • Arrival: 07:00pm – Lahore (drop-off 2)

Passengers can book their seats from Lahore, Rawalpindi or either from Islamabad. It includes the facilities mentioned as under:

  • Premium and luxurious buses
  • Comfortable journey
  • Better en route services, (that include breakfast, lunch, dinner refreshment beverages, tea, and snacks).
  • Fast Wi-Fi throughout the journey

Keep in mind you are only allowed to carry only 2 bags with you which should not be weight more than 20Kgs. Otherwise, you will charge extra for the luggage more than 20Kgs weight. You should not forget the following documents to keep with you to travel to China:

  • Passport
  • NIC
  • Valid Visa
  • Original Invitation Letter from China
  • Ticket

The service informs passengers to book their seats at least a week before the travel. Here is how much CPEC Passenger Bus Service charges for the comfortable journey between the two countries.

  • One way ticket from Lahore to Taskurgan – PKR 13000 per seat.
  • One way ticket from Tashkurgan to Lahore – RMB600 (equivalent to PKR 11,475 under current exchange rate).
  • Return Ticket – PKR23000
